Tiling Window Manager

Postby h3z » Sun Jun 30, 2013 6:13 pm

If you have ever wanted to try a tiling WM, I suggest you try Ion3. It has great default key-bindings and a nice simple status bar. It is also compatible with dmenu. If you like tiling you may want to eventually try dwm. In order to be very useful it will need to have its source code edited with the options you need. If thats not your thing stick to Ion3, and read it's man-page.

For people who are BSD/MIT license freak like me will like i3 or Qtile. Qtile have bit a learning curve, but for python programer Qtile might be a good start for learning how to build a simple window manager with python.
